About Chilham Parish Council

The Parish Council is elected every four years. The next election is muted to be in May 2011. Anyone living in the Parish can  stand but has to be nominated & seconded by residents of the Parish.

Mr. R Taylor (Chairman) 2 Northdowns Close Old Wives Lees CANTERBURY Kent CT4 8BP Tel: 01227 730770		Richard has been a councillor since May 2007 , and became the current Chairman in the same year. He has been retired for 8 years, enjoys walking and reading, and is also a local magistrate.
Derrick Kennett (Vice Chairman) 6 Herons Close  Chilham  Kent CT4 8DN    Tel: 01227 730500		Derrick is the current vice-chairman and has been a councillor since May 1999.. He was born and brought up in Chilham and is a self employed carpenter and decorator. He is interested in local history.
Margaret Barbrook  The White House,  Church Hill  Chilham  Kent CT4 8DA Tel: 01227 730472		Margaret has been a councillor since June 2003. Her main interests include helping to develop community events in the parish and concern for the environment especially the conservation areas.
Alistair Ralph  Danehurst  Maidstone Road  Chilham  Kent CT4 8ER      Tel:01227 730873		Ali has been a councillor since May 1999 and is now in his 3rd term. He has been a resident for 24 years, retired from Unilever in 2006. Very active in Community events. Lives with 4 Spaniels and is a regular volunteer at the Canterbury Dog’s Trust. He an able musician  and well known  for his somewhat caustic wit.

Jude has been a councillor since May 2007 She has lived in OWL since 2004, runs a B&B and recently gained a qualification in interior design. Her main interest within the Council are communications, events and planning.

She has been a professional classical musician - performing and teaching - and is keen on gardening and cycling.
